Improve your horse’s agility and technique
Training this weekend? British Eventing’s Young Rider sponsor Saracen Horse Feeds has an exercise for you to try.
Saracen rider Connie Copestake has set up a grid to help improve your horse’s agility and technique in front.
- Start with a bounce (three-and-a-half yards) then eight yards to the oxer, followed by eight yards to the second bounce (three-and-a-half yards).
- While building up your grid, keep the fences small to ensure that your horse is happy and confident.
- Once more established, you can make the exercise more difficult by making the oxer taller and wider, and changing the bounces into uprights.
