British Eventing Support Trust launches digital platforms

The BE Support Trust is a new charity set up to provide invaluable support for injured British Eventing members and to improve the safety and wellbeing of the people at the heart of the eventing community. To mark the launch of its website and social media platforms, we caught up with Charity Administrator Jane Rudd (pictured above)

Describe the Support Trust in one sentence…

Supporting the physical and mental health of British Eventing members.

Why is it so important for riders to have access to this type of support?

Quite often when someone suffers an injury they don’t always have the connections to obtain the necessary support required to aid their recovery. We will be able to offer support and advice on an individual case basis, which will hopefully remove some of the stress suffered following an injury.

What made you want to be involved and how would you describe your role?

I am the charity administrator, which means I am often the first point of contact for anyone contacting the BE Support Trust, whether that is someone requiring support or someone offering to fundraise on our behalf or wanting to make a donation. As well as the general day-to-day admin for the charity, I also work behind the scenes supporting the Trustees, liaising with our Ambassadors and partner charities and researching fundraising ideas.

What has been the most satisfying moment in the role so far?

My most satisfying moment in the role so far has been the creation of the website. I was very daunted at the prospect of commissioning a website and really wanted it to be something that looked professional as well as not costing the earth! I’m delighted that both goals have been achieved!

Could the trust help me?

The BE Support Trust will offer support to any British Eventing member regardless of what level you’re competing at.

How can I get involved?

You can show your support for the Trust by liking and sharing our social media pages to help raise our profile. You can also consider making a donation or fundraising on our behalf – more information is available on the new website. Finally, if your business or organisation is looking to support a charity, please consider the BE Support Trust.
